Attention all music, film and book lovers alike! There will be plenty to enjoy at this year’s Heritage Arts Festival, themed LOCS (Loving Our Creative Spirit). Dance the days away as you enjoy live jazz, R&B, gospel and blues performances from some of the city’s best performers. And, that’s not all. Film screenings, stage plays, story-telling, exhibits and book signings will also be taking place throughout the Heritage Arts Festival.
The 2011 Heritage Arts Festival featured entertainment by: Jason Bitten, The Breeze Kings, Beverly “Guitar” Watkins, Trina Mashell, Agape, ViZion Dance, Jazzmatic and more. In addition, the African-American Cinema Gallery hosted daily film screening and displayed its “Black in Film” exhibit.
